Disney - Halloween Trip 2014

We just returned from Disney yesterday. We had such a great trip! It was gorgeous weather the entire time we were there. We met up with some awesome friends as always and had an amazing time. We had some not so great experiences from our resort, but I'll get into that later. This will be a super heavy picture laden blog post. We left early on a Friday and arrived around 7:30pm that night. We did run into a lot of traffic along the way down. Every time it seems like Eric was able to shave off a little time, we'd get stuck in congested traffic again. I won't go through every single day, but here are a few highlights. We made our usual stop at the Florida Welcome Center for OJ.
We rested the first evening since it had been a super long drive. We were in a standard room at Pop Century the first night. We called and requested bed rails for Landon's bed. We were only going to be in that room for one night, but wanted to make sure he didn't risk rolling out of bed. We had a lake view that night, then the next morning, we moved on over to our preferred pool view that we'd be in for the next 7 nights. Our first park: Epcot. Which is no surprise to anyone who knows Landon. He LOVES Test Track and The Great Piggy Bank Adventure game. They are his favorites. We ended up spending the majority of our trip at Epcot. It's now always our first and last park on our trips. Whoever said Epcot has nothing for kids is totally wrong. There's SO much for kids there. We really enjoy it. We spent the first full day at Epcot and ended up walking almost 9 miles. Wowsa! Katsura Grill in Japan was our restaurant of choice for lunch. Eric had udon noodles and I had teriyaki chicken and Landon ate some of both. :) We met up with a few of the characters, including Duffy, whom Landon has been dying to meet. :) Then we had an AMAZING meal at Coral Reef Restaurants. Seriously so good! We enjoyed a swim that first night in a frigid pool!
On day 2, we took it way easy. We spent most of the morning and day around the resort swimming and relaxing to rest up for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that night. Eric and I have been to 2 of the MNSSHP's before in the past, but this was Landon's first. We had such a great time. It was perfect weather that evening and we were able to basically walk on every single ride. Landon could have cared less about the candy and trick or treating. We got one handful of candy each. He only wanted to watch the fireworks, parade, and ride rides. We did manage to get him to dance a little at the parties, but he refused to let us video or take pictures of him doing so. Haha!
We hit the Magic Kingdom again the next day and I think we might have ridden 2 rides, then left. It was crowded and hot and we were killed from being at the party the night before. We headed to downtown Disney to shop a bit, had lunch at Rainforest Cafe, then we headed back to the resort for awhile. We did however, stop in the Edy's Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street for this little beauty. I certainly blew the clean eating/healthy eating on this thing, but it was worth it. It's a mini kitchen sink. Nowhere near the size (or price!) of the original, but it was super good, really cute, and we got a cute little sink out of it. Haha!
We met up with my parents before leaving MK for the day:
We also did something different this trip, we took pictures of Landon in all of the countries in world showcase. While I won't post them all here, here are a few of my favorites.
On Wednesday, we met up with friends and spent the day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It was a great day and we had a blast. We've been meeting up with friends there since our boys came home in May 2011. Our sweet boys celebrated their 1st birthdays together in Korea and I love that they have this bond. I pray that they will always remain friends.
Landon did the Jedi Training academy that day as well. We were the LAST spot of the day after only getting in line 15 minutes after the park opened. Craziness. He LOVED it though and I'm so glad he did it.
On Thursday we spent the day at Animal Kingdom. I don't know that I took more than 4-5 pictures that day other than the one I took of us on the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch, which was a bust by the way, since the petting zoo part was closed and that's all Landon went for. LOL Most of our pictures consisted of Landon sleeping because apparently that's what Kiliminjaro Safaris is good for. Putting kids to sleep. Haha! Needless to say, we went back to the room to nap afterwards. On the way out we ordered some Rainforest Café to go. Later that evening we headed out for Fantastmic and Indiana Jones. :)
On Friday morning, we met back up with friends and headed SUPER early to the Hollywood Studios in the hopes of getting both our boys into the Jedi Training Academy together for an early show. After the dads and boys took off on a dash/run/power walk through the park, they were able to secure 2 spots in the second show. So both our sweet boys did the Jedi Training Academy together. :)
That afternoon we got packed up to head home bright and early the next day and then let Landon spend Halloween around the resort playing games and winning prizes. :)
Overall, we had an amazing trip. Multiple hiccups at the resort put a bit of a damper on things, but we love Disney and always will. We just may choose a different resort next time around......
